Position: Accountant
Location: Downtown Toronto – Hybrid (2 days on-site per week, close to major transit)
Salary: $70,000 - 80,000 + generous vacation, benefits and RRSP matching

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant preferably from insurance background to join the finance team of a growing insurance firm in downtown Toronto. This hybrid role provides exposure to a wide range of accounting activities, opportunities for professional growth, and a collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Reconcile bank accounts and financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, to ensure accuracy
- Record daily, monthly, and annual journal entries
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Support general ledger maintenance and financial reporting
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation
- Perform other duties as assigned by the finance team

Qualifications:

- Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- 3-5 years of accounting experience (experience in insurance or financial services is an asset)
- Solid understanding of Canadian accounting principles
- CPA designation or progress toward CPA Ontario is a strong asset
