Job Type: Full-time, exempt

We are partnering with a growing organization in the personal care and specialty chemicals space to hire a Product Safety and Regulatory Toxicology Specialist. This is a highly visible role supporting product development, safety assessment, and regulatory compliance across a global portfolio.

This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in toxicology who is looking to deepen their regulatory expertise, or someone already working in regulatory toxicology who wants to be more hands on and influential in product development.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support product safety and regulatory compliance across new and existing formulations
- Conduct toxicological risk assessments including exposure and ingredient safety evaluations
- Interpret and apply U.S. regulatory frameworks including MoCRA, Prop 65, FDA, and TSCA
- Contribute to global regulatory alignment including EU Cosmetics Regulation and REACH
- Prepare and maintain documentation such as safety data sheets, certifications, and compliance files
- Partner closely with R&D to guide safe product development and reformulation
- Collaborate with marketing and commercial teams to support claims and product positioning
- Respond to customer and audit related regulatory inquiries
- Monitor regulatory updates and emerging ingredient restrictions and communicate impacts internally
- Use safety assessment tools such as QSAR or OECD Toolbox to evaluate chemical risk

What We Are Looking For:

- Strong foundation in toxicology with the ability to apply scientific principles to real world product safety decisions
- Knowledge of U.S. regulations including MoCRA and Prop 65 is required
- Exposure to global regulations is an asset but can be developed in the role
- Experience conducting or supporting toxicology studies such as skin or eye irritation assessments
- Background in cosmetics, personal care, pharmaceuticals, or specialty chemicals
- Comfort working in a hands on, data driven environment

This is not a transactional role focused only on documentation. We are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in product safety and wants to play an active role in shaping safe and compliant products.

The right person will be a critical thinker who can assess risk, propose solutions, and confidently communicate recommendations, even when they are not the easiest message to deliver. This role acts as an internal voice for safety and requires someone who can influence decision making across teams.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Toxicology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field
- Approximately 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in toxicology, product safety, or regulatory environments
- Experience with safety assessment tools and Microsoft Office
- Advanced Excel skills are not required at entry but will be developed over time

Additional Details:

- Hybrid work environment with onsite presence required in Philadelphia
- Approximately 10 percent travel for meetings or industry events

If you are looking for a role where you can combine science, safety, and influence within product development, this is a strong opportunity to grow your impact.
