Position: Middleware Administrator
Location: Downtown Toronto
Salary: $70-$85 per hour
Job Type: 12-month Contract

We are seeking a hands-on Technical Consultant (Infrastructure) to support the delivery, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise middleware environments. This role focuses on ensuring the stability, performance, and security of middleware platforms across both project initiatives and day-to-day operations.

The ideal candidate is a middleware generalist with strong troubleshooting skills, a proactive mindset, and a willingness to work across a broad range of technologies in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Administer and support middleware platforms in both project and operational environments (non-development role)
- Install, configure, and deploy middleware technologies and interfaces
- Monitor, manage, and tune middleware systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner
- Identify opportunities for service improvement and proactively address potential risks
- Lead or support middleware upgrade and asset refresh initiatives
- Apply security patches, perform health checks, and implement preventative maintenance measures
- Ensure compliance with architecture, security, and operational standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business and technical requirements
- Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation, including support guides and build documentation

Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT, with a focus on middleware administration

Required Technical Experience:

- IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE)
- IBM MQ
- Oracle WebLogic (12c or newer)
- Apache, Tomcat, and reverse proxy technologies
- SSL certificate management

Nice-to-Have Experience:

- Oracle Utilities applications (e.g., CCB, NMS, OUA, OMA)
- WebSphere Application Server
Enterprise job schedulers (e.g., AppWorx)
- SAP BusinessObjects, Data Services, or other ETL tools
