Solution Architect

Position: Solution Architect
Location: Hybrid: 2 days in downtown Toronto office
Salary: $110K-$130K

Key Responsibilities:

- Design end-to-end solution architectures ensuring scalable, resilient, and high-performance systems that support trading, risk, settlements, and market data processing.
- Lead product and system design by defining architectural blueprints, application integration patterns, domain models, APIs, and microservices using Java-based technologies.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product managers, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
- Provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle by conducting architecture reviews, validating design decisions, and ensuring adherence to security, performance, and reliability best practices.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and architectural patterns, driving continuous improvements in application design, cloud adoption, DevOps practices, and system modernization initiatives.

Qualifications:

- 10+ years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture, with significant experience designing enterprise applications.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, REST APIs, distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Proven experience in product design, system design, and architecture governance, including creating scalable, secure, and highly available solutions for mission-critical applications.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering practices, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
