Our client is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Optical Lab Technician to join a busy optical laboratory in Calgary.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys production work, takes pride in accuracy, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will support the daily production of high-quality prescription eyewear while helping maintain efficient workflow, quality standards, and a clean, organized lab.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform general optical laboratory duties to support daily production.
- Block lenses in preparation for the edging process.

- Operate and assist with lens edging equipment.
- Clean, inspect, and prepare lenses and finished eyewear.
- Unpack incoming materials and organize inventory.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure lenses and eyewear meet company standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company procedures and health and safety guidelines.
- Assist with other lab-related duties as required.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in an optical lab, manufacturing, or production environment is an asset but not required.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to producing quality work.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Dependable with a strong attendance record.
