We are seeking an experienced AI/ML Engineer based in Ontario to design, train, and deploy the computer vision models that power our core platform. You will work across the full model lifecycle—from building training pipelines and refining model performance to deploying scalable inference services directly into production.

This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives on real ownership, cares about practical real-world impact, and enjoys converting complex, raw visual data into production-ready intelligence relied upon by construction professionals daily.

Key Responsibilities:

Build High-Performance Vision Models
- Develop and train segmentation, detection, and classification models using PyTorch.
- Create and optimize data pipelines for annotation, preprocessing, data augmentation, and systematic experimentation.

- Improve model accuracy, precision, and robustness through advanced optimization techniques.

Deploy & Maintain Production ML Systems
- Architect real-time and batch inference pipelines in Python.
- Deploy models to production environments using Docker, AWS infrastructure, and model-serving frameworks.

- Implement diagnostics, performance metrics, and visualization tools to monitor system reliability.

Advanced Computer Vision Capabilities
- Combine classical image processing (OpenCV) with deep learning for robust performance.
- Build custom evaluation tooling, visual debuggers, and interpretable model diagnostics.

- Apply techniques in OCR, 3D transformations, and geometric reasoning to solve spatial and technical challenges.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with backend engineers to integrate inference endpoints into the platform.
- Partner with product managers to translate complex customer workflows into technical AI solutions.

- Contribute directly to system architecture, technical planning, and continuous platform improvements.

Core Qualifications:

- Education: Master’s or PhD in Computer Vision, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience: 4+ years of applied experience building, training, and evaluating CV models in production environments.

Technical Mastery:

- Deep Learning Frameworks: Strong expertise in PyTorch (CNNs, object detection, semantic/instance segmentation).

- CV Foundations: Proficiency with OpenCV, classical image processing, augmentation pipelines, and visual diagnostics.
- Mathematics: Grounding in linear algebra, probability, optimization, and 3D geometric transformations.
- Production ML: Proven track record deploying CV models into cloud environments using Python, Docker, and AWS services.

Core Values:

- Focus on What Matters: Prioritize high-impact actions aligned with overall vision and key metrics.
- Own the Outcomes: Take single-threaded responsibility to drive real outcomes and deliver quality.

- Be Bold, Iterate Fast: Take calculated risks, test rapidly, and continuously learn.
- Earn Trust, Empower Others: Raise the team’s standard through honesty, collaboration, and high quality.
