Position: Senior AccountantLocation: North York, ON (Hybrid)Salary Range: $70,000 $82,000Job Type: PermanentPosition Type: Open VacancyOur client, a well-established not-for-profit organization, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their Finance team. This hands-on role will be responsible for supporting the organization's day-to-day accounting operations, including financial reporting, payroll support, revenue recognition, reconciliations, audit preparation, and month-end/year-end activities. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Finance, the successful candidate will also provide guidance to junior team members and contribute to process improvements, financial controls, and ongoing system enhancements.Key Responsibilities:- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, revenue recording, accounts payable, reconciliations, and journal entries.- Review deposits, invoices, expense reports, and financial transactions for accuracy and compliance.- Support month-end and year-end close processes, financial reporting, audit preparation, HST filings, and rebate submissions.- Review payroll reports, process adjustments, reconcile payroll accounts, and prepare payroll-related journal entries.- Provide guidance and support to junior team members while ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.- Maintain financial records, administer online banking platforms, and liaise with internal stakeholders and external vendors.- Identify and implement process improvements, system enhancements, and financial controls.Requirements:- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.- CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA required.- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, payroll support, reconciliations, audit preparation, and revenue recognition.- Experience with recording and reconciling revenue from multiple sources, including donations, grants, fundraising initiatives, or similar funding streams, is highly preferred.- Experience with QuickBooks Online Advanced and advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables).- Previous experience providing guidance or oversight to junior staff is an asset.- Exposure to the not-for-profit sector is highly preferred; experience with donor, fundraising, or CRM databases is an asset.- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills with a high attention to detail.- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.Please send your resume in Word format to Vanessa Tran at vanessa.tran@quantum.ca.
