About the Opportunity

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join their team in Etobicoke. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play an important part in maintaining accurate financial records, completing reconciliations, and supporting the overall organization of the accounting function.

This position starts at 3 days per week, Tuesday to Thursday, with long-term potential for full-time hours and permanent employment as the company transitions to a new accounting system.

What You’ll Be Doing:


- Manage and maintain accurate accounting records and financial transactions
- Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Perform regular bank reconciliations
- Reconcile general ledger and other balance sheet accounts
- Review and reconcile the accrued liabilities account
- Reconcile inventory accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records
- Assist with the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
- Prepare and/or assist with HST filings and related reconciliations
- Review accounting entries and identify and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain organized supporting documentation and accounting records
- Support additional accounting projects and initiatives as needed
- Help improve and organize accounting processes as the company transitions to a new accounting system

What You Bring:


- 3–5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Full-cycle accounting experience preferred, or strong accounting fundamentals with the ability to work independently
- Hands-on experience with AP, AR and account reconciliations
- Strong bank reconciliation experience
- Experience with HST/GST and Canadian accounting requirements
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Ability to investigate discrepancies and resolve accounting issues
- Self-starter who takes ownership and can work independently
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain detailed notes and documentation
- Experience with accounting software; Business Vision is an asset
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in English
- Accounting, Finance or related education is an asset
