Are you an experienced automotive painter ready to take your career beyond the paint booth? This is an exciting opportunity to use your technical expertise in a customer-facing role, helping automotive body shops troubleshoot paint challenges, improve application techniques, and get the most out of their products.

You’ll provide hands-on technical support and training to collision repair shops throughout Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. If you enjoy solving problems, sharing your knowledge, and building strong customer relationships, this could be the next step in your career.

What’s in it for you?

- $95,000 annual base salary plus bonus potential of up to 10%
- Company vehicle and company card
- Travel expenses covered
- Benefits and registered pension plan effective immediately
- Three weeks of vacation to start
- Remote, field-based position with independence and variety
- Opportunity to build on your automotive painting expertise without being confined to the paint booth

What you’ll be doing:

- Visit automotive collision repair shops throughout Nova Scotia and Newfoundland to provide technical support, training, and troubleshooting.
- Train automotive painters on product selection, mixing, application techniques, and best practices for automotive refinishing products.
- Diagnose and resolve technical challenges, including colour-matching issues, paint application defects, and product-related concerns.
- Assist with new customer installations, product demonstrations, and the introduction of automotive paint systems.
- Work closely with sales and operations teams to support customer needs and maintain strong relationships with key accounts.
- Conduct regular customer check-ins, including visits to multi-location collision repair organizations.
- Provide hands-on painting support when needed to help customers maintain operations during staffing shortages or extended absences.
- Document customer visits, technical issues, training activities, and follow-up actions accurately using company systems.
- Manage your schedule, travel, and customer commitments independently while maintaining professional and safe work practices.

What you bring:

- At least 5 years of hands-on automotive painting or refinishing experience, ideally as a senior painter, lead painter, or head painter in a collision repair shop.
- Strong knowledge of automotive paint preparation, sanding, mixing, application techniques, and colour matching.
- Experience troubleshooting paint-related issues and identifying appropriate colour formulas and solutions.
- Familiarity with automotive refinish paint systems such as PPG, Sherwin-Williams, Axalta, or similar products.
- Experience with specific paint manufacturers or product lines is an asset but is not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and support painters confidently and professionally.
- A customer-focused, approachable attitude and the ability to share technical knowledge without being overly prescriptive.
- Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a regional territory and complete administrative reporting.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and Word, and the ability to learn customer management and paint-related software.
- A valid driver's licence, an acceptable driver's abstract, and the ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and flexibility to travel throughout Atlantic Canada as required.

If you’re an experienced automotive painter who enjoys troubleshooting, teaching others, and building customer relationships, we’d love to hear from you.
