The Assistant Manager, Compliance supports the Compliance leadership team in overseeing and managing bank-wide regulatory compliance (excluding AML/TF). This role focuses on regulatory compliance management, consumer protection, privacy, compliance testing, and regulatory reporting, while working closely with internal stakeholders and the Parent Bank.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the maintenance of the Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) framework - Identify, assess, and document applicable regulatory requirements across business units - Perform gap assessments for new or amended regulations and track remediation efforts - Document and review compliance policies, procedures, controls, and matrices - Conduct compliance testing and monitor remediation progress - Manage complaints and regulatory reporting (e.g., FCAC, OBSI) - Review marketing and promotional materials for regulatory compliance - Coordinate regulatory and internal reporting to senior management - Support regulatory examinations, audits, and compliance training initiatives - Assist with ad-hoc compliance projects as required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience - 2–3 years of experience in Compliance, Risk, Privacy, or related banking roles within the financial services sector - Working knowledge of regulatory bodies and frameworks (OSFI, FCAC, CDIC, PIPEDA, CASL, Bank Act) - Experience with Regulatory Compliance Management tools (e.g., Ethidex or similar) - Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills - Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook - Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
