Position: Receptionist
Location: Ottawa
Job Type: 6-month contract with potential to extend

Overview:

Our client is seeking a Receptionist to support day-to-day office operations and provide a high standard of service to internal teams and external visitors. This role is well suited to someone who is organized, service-oriented, and takes pride in maintaining a welcoming and professional workplace.


Key Responsibilities:

- Coordinate conference room logistics for meetings and events, including room setup, teardown, and furniture or equipment arrangements.
- Manage catering setup and support for meetings and events.
- Oversee the setup, cleanup, and general upkeep of meeting rooms to ensure a polished and professional environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of shared office spaces.
- Clean and restock coffee and hospitality areas, including operating dishwashers and replenishing supplies (coffee, milk, sugar, paper products, etc.).
- Monitor and manage office supply inventory to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Support office maintenance requests and coordinate with onsite vendors as needed.
- Respond promptly and professionally to requests from internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in the Health & Safety program, including responsibilities as a Fire Warden, First Aid provider, and Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) member.
- Perform other clerical and administrative duties as assigned.

Backup Coverage Responsibilities:

- Mailroom services
- Conference room bookings and catering coordination

Qualifications:

- Previous reception experience

- Professional, service-focused approach with strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy office environment
- Clear communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
