Position: Senior IAM Azure Designer
Location: Downtown Toronto (Hybrid Onsite)
Job Type: 12-month contract

Role Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Azure cloud specialist to provide architectural leadership and strategic direction for identity and access management in a cloud-first environment. This position focuses on designing secure, compliant, and scalable Azure identity solutions in close partnership with security and technology stakeholders. The role is advisory and design-oriented, emphasizing governance, architecture, and policy creation rather than hands-on operational support.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and evolve Azure cloud architecture with a strong emphasis on identity, access, and security governance
- Partner with security and platform teams to embed Zero Trust concepts and identity-first security principles
- Establish standards for access management, identity lifecycle processes, and role-based access controls
- Develop guidance for secure cloud patterns, risk reduction, and adherence to industry security frameworks
- Provide strategic input on scalability, resilience, and cost-aware cloud design
- Produce and maintain clear documentation covering IAM standards, governance models, and security policies
- Contribute to evaluations of identity and cloud security tools, including integration considerations

Required Experience & Skills

- 5+ years of experience in Azure architecture, identity and access management, or cloud security design
- Strong knowledge of Azure identity services, including Entra ID, Conditional Access, RBAC, and privileged access concepts
- Working familiarity with common security and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO, NIST) and Zero Trust approaches
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience translating security requirements into practical, scalable governance standards

Preferred Certifications

- Microsoft Identity or Azure Security–focused certifications
- CISSP or comparable cloud security credential
