We are looking to hire a Senior Manager, Pay Services – SAP Payroll for a great client located in Mississauga. The Senior Manager, Pay Services – SAP Payroll will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the organization’s payroll function and delivery.
This role also ensures accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with employment legislation, payroll tax requirements, collective agreements, and other regulatory obligations. The Senior Manager, Pay Services – SAP Payroll provides strategic guidance, technical support, and mentorship to Payroll staff, promotes continuous process improvement, and ensures business continuity through robust documentation and knowledge transfer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring timely deposits, accurate calculations, and compliance with statutory, regulatory, and collective agreement requirements.
- Audit payroll data and ensure adherence to internal controls and organizational policies.
- Configure and manage payroll systems for annual salary adjustments, collective agreement settlements, and other payroll changes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation, tax regulations, and industry best practices.
- Ensure accurate reporting, reconciliation, and accounting of payroll-related liabilities.
- Support payroll-related system upgrades, testing, and operational enhancements.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical support to Payroll staff, fostering a collaborative, service-oriented team culture.
- Ensure team members are fully trained and capable of executing the end-to-end payroll process.
- Develop and maintain payroll documentation to support business continuity.
- Motivate and inspire the team to achieve best-in-class service delivery.
- Act as a key advisor to People & Culture, Finance, and other departments on payroll matters, labour data, and cost analysis.
- Build strong relationships with employees, union representatives, and management to ensure smooth resolution of payroll-related inquiries or disputes.
- Provide accurate data and operational insights to support collective bargaining, grievance, and settlement processes.
- Communicate proactively with staff regarding payroll policies, procedures, and general information.
- Prepare and review payroll reports, reconciliations, and labour cost analyses for management and finance.
- Provide actionable recommendations to support decision-making in payroll, finance, and collective bargaining.
- Participate in audits, ensuring all payroll data and processes are accurate and complete.
- Support the continuous improvement of payroll services through operational and system enhancements.
