Our busy client is seeking a Skilled Welder-Fitter / Shop Technician to join their dynamic team. This is a hands-on role involving precision workmanship on custom stainless-steel designs and water features. Shop fabrication (50%) and on -site installation (50%) They offer excellent benefits.
This role is demanding and may require working outdoors in all types of weather. You will manage various projects, including light, moderate, and heavy industrial work, and be expected to support one or more of the following areas:
- Fabrication of stainless steel swimming pools, water walls, water features, and SS/Glass artwork
- Structural and miscellaneous stainless steel framework
- Polishing and finishing of stainless steel
- Operating manual and semi-automatic welding equipment, hoisting and lifting machinery
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and welding drawings
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven hands-on experience in layout, fitting, and welding of structural steel, pipe, plate, and sheet metal
- Expertise in TIG welding; ability to stick weld and use automated shop technologies (water jet cutting, CNC, etc.)
- Familiarity with shop equipment (brake, shear, CNC mandrel bender, drill press)
- Mechanically inclined with knowledge of process plumbing and construction-based tasks (tiling, cement, waterproofing, carpentry)
- Ability to interpret design intent and produce high-quality finished stainless steel
- Physically fit and able to handle heavy industrial work (lifting up to 70 lbs)
- Own tools and equipment (steel-toed safety boots, welding helmet, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license with clean abstract and access to a vehicle
