Position: Senior Full Stack Developer (Java / Angular)
Location: Toronto (Downtown) – Hybrid (2 days onsite)
Salary: $95 per hour INC (37.5 hours per week)

We are partnering with a leading Fintech organization to hire a Senior Full Stack Developer (Java / Angular) for a 13-month contract. This role sits within a core application team supporting a modern enterprise platform with select legacy components currently being enhanced and upgraded.
This is a true full stack role (approximately 60% backend / 40% frontend), with a strong emphasis on backend development, APIs, integrations, and platform improvements using Java and Spring Boot, alongside Angular-based UI work. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth, experience working across mature enterprise systems, and the ability to contribute to ongoing modernization efforts.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Work on a modern enterprise application with some legacy components undergoing enhancement and upgrades
- Develop and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot (primary focus)
- Contribute to frontend development using Angular (UI enhancements, feature work, and integrations)
- Build and support APIs, integrations, and system improvements across the platform
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, grooming, retrospectives)
- Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, QA, and offshore team members
- Support ongoing technical upgrades, performance improvements, and platform evolution
- Deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code across the full stack
What We’re Looking For:
- 10+ years of full stack development experience at a senior level
- Strong expertise in Java 17/21 and Spring Boot (backend-heavy role)
- Hands-on experience with Angular (full stack capability, not just frontend exposure)
- Experience working on enterprise applications with evolving or partially legacy components
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, system integrations, and distributed systems
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional teams (BA/PO/QA)
- Strong working experience with Azure cloud environment (required)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a 6-person team (3 devs, 3 QA) with offshore support
Nice to Have:
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot
- Background in fintech or large-scale enterprise environments
- Exposure to platform modernization or incremental system upgrades
