Position: Field Service Technician – PLC & Controls
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Salary: $100K+ (based on experience) + full benefits
Work: 50% travel to client sites / 50% remote work from home
Join an international leading company in the Pulp & Paper manufacturing industry as a Field Service Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in industrial machinery who enjoys both travel and technical problem-solving. In this role, you will lead the installation, testing, and commissioning of advanced equipment across North America, providing expert mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on-site.
What You'll Do:
- Travel to customer sites across the Western USA and Canada
- Perform installation, commissioning, and repairs of industrial equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and PLC/automation systems
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to control systems and PLCs
- Write detailed field reports and document site activities
- Train customers in operations, maintenance, and basic PLC functionality
You Bring:
- At least 3–5+ years of field service experience in industrial machinery
- Background in electromechanics or equivalent
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical, mechanical, and control systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and PLC logic
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
