Position: Data Engineer
Location: Scarborough, On site 2 days per week
Salary : $110K - $135K

Role Summary:
This position involves working with data from multiple sources, including databases and APIs. You’ll be responsible for transforming and structuring data, developing reporting solutions, and contributing to modern data platform initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise across data engineering, visualization, and cloud-based tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean, validate, and transform data to ensure accuracy and usability
- Develop and manage data warehouse solutions to support analytics and reporting needs
- Optimize data performance, integrity, and security across platforms
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI to support business insights
- Implement advanced reporting features (e.g., data modeling, DAX, custom visuals)
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions
- Utilize Python for data processing, automation, and analysis
- Work with cloud-based data services for storage, processing, and orchestration
- Apply best practices in data governance, quality, and security
- Support analytical initiatives by identifying trends and insights within datasets
- Contribute to containerized and scalable data solution deployments where applicable
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 3–5+ years of experience in data engineering, data analytics, or similar roles
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases
- Proficiency in Python and common data libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy)
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with Power BI, including dashboard development and data modeling
- Experience designing and maintaining data warehouse solutions
- Solid understanding of ETL processes and data architecture principles
- Exposure to containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes) is an asset
- Experience with C#/.NET is considered a plus
