Location: Downtown Toronto (walking distance from Union Station) – Hybrid (majority remote)
Salary: $200–$225 per hour (contract)
Duration: Approximately 5 months (up to ~100 hours total)

Overview
Our client, a leading institutional investment organization, is seeking a senior Liquidity Risk Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a part-time contractual basis. This individual will support the enhancement and maturity of the organization’s Liquidity Risk Management Framework within a Total Portfolio Approach.
This is a flexible advisory engagement suited to a highly experienced professional, ideally with prior pension fund or institutional asset management experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance on the design and enhancement of liquidity risk frameworks
- Offer independent 2nd line oversight on liquidity risk methodologies and governance
- Support development and refinement of liquidity risk metrics, stress testing, and monitoring approaches
- Advise on alignment with Risk Appetite Framework and portfolio-wide liquidity considerations
- Collaborate with Investment, Treasury, Finance, and Data teams as required
- Contribute to senior-level reporting and risk committee materials
- Act as a trusted SME advisor on liquidity risk matters across the organization
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in liquidity risk within pension fund, institutional investor, or asset management environments
- Strong 2nd line risk background with hands-on framework design and governance experience
- Deep understanding of liquidity risk across public and private asset classes
- Experience with stress testing, liquidity metrics, and portfolio-level liquidity oversight
- Familiarity with Total Portfolio Approach concepts is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills with ability to translate complex risk concepts into clear, actionable insights
