Position: Project Manager – Packaging / Food Processing Equipment Experience
Location: Brampton (3 days a week in office)

We are looking to hire a Project Manager for a great client in the packaging/food processing machinery and equipment manufacturing industry. This role does require relatively frequent travel to client sites and trades shows locally and on occasions internationally.
Responsibilities:
- Pre-sale project support to reduce post-sale issues and costs.
- Post-sale project management for the company and 3rd party equipment.
- Project management for special technical initiatives and specific projects as needed
- Review of customer specific specifications and requirements, submittal of recommended exceptions within a necessary project timeline.
- Work closely with internal teams and 3rd Party Technical Documentation Specialist(s) to facilitate the creation and consolidation of Technical Order Documents, ensuring compliance to all safety regulations (CSA, ESA, MUWO Corporate, CE, etc.)
- Conduct factory visits as necessary to accomplish all technical responsibilities of the job, including but not limited to maintaining current knowledge of company product development.
- When applicable, maintain strategic relationships with third party automation companies to complement the company’s offering and extend line solutions.
- Facilitate negotiation of purchase terms and conditions with suppliers, establish specifications by project, and establish performance criteria for FAT & SAT’s.
- Operate within annual expense budget and assist Sales Team to meet annual sales goals.
- Attend and participate in trade shows, sales meetings, and other company specified activities, as required.
- Be an active student of the packaging industry, the company’s product portfolio and equipment capabilities, industry automation trends, and the competition to facilitate personal growth through internal and external resources.
- Works with management to assure sufficient resources are estimated and allocated to each project.
- Participate in Project review meetings to include Sales and Technical personnel in order to highlight resource limitations and inform stakeholders early in the project post-sales phase.
- Perform all necessary post sales responsibilities including: Order Specifications, obtain lay-out approval, cost control (buy, sell, actual), time control, Shipping, Planning, Execution, Documentation, Being close with the customer, Drive issue or snag list to resolution in shortest possible time frame, Closing the file and costing, Reporting all activity and progress, successful handover to Customer Care Team
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in technical curriculum or equivalent from four-year College or University; and five years technical experience creating, planning, and executing automation systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 years project management experience (primary packaging preferred) in the food industry.
- Previous high complexity and high visibility project management experience required.
- Commercial aptitude.
- Knowledge of MS-Office programs, MS Project or equivalent, 2D CAD (AutoCAD or equivalent), 3D SolidWorks would be a strong asset.
- Current valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a passport for travel as required by position.
- CAPM / PMI Certification preferred.
- Must be flexible to travel for work locally and internationally as needed.
