Position: Technical Support Specialist – Field Products & Customer Solutions (Industrial Doors)
Location: Mississauga, ON
Salary: $100K to $120K

We are looking to hire a Technical Support Specialist for a well-established commercial and industrial doors manufacturer located in Mississauga. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this role is responsible for providing hands-on technical support to the dealer network related to the installation, service, and application of industrial and commercial door systems.

This position is primarily focused on field-based technical expertise, troubleshooting, and customer/dealer support, with additional involvement in training, engineering support, and limited quoting assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide technical support on industrial and commercial door systems, including sectional doors, rolling steel doors, and related products, to dealers, installers, customers, Sales, and Customer Service teams.
- Troubleshoot installation and field application issues and provide practical, real-time technical solutions.
- Act as the primary technical liaison between Engineering, Sales, and Customer Service to ensure accurate product interpretation, feasibility assessment, and timely resolution of customer inquiries.
- Support dealers and installers with product application guidance and installation best practices.
- Conduct customer site visits on an as-needed basis to assess technical issues, support complex applications, and provide field input for custom solutions.
- Deliver product knowledge and technical training to internal teams and external customers, including dealers and installers.
- Support Engineering with field feedback, product improvements, and custom order technical reviews.
- Provide technical input to support Customer Service and Sales with custom configurations and project-specific requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of technical support processes, customer service workflows, and field documentation standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience installing, servicing, or supporting overhead, sectional, or industrial door systems (or similar mechanical systems)
- Strong practical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in field environments
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Comfortable delivering technical training to both internal and external audiences
- Strong customer service mindset with the ability to manage field issues professionally
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work effectively with customers, dealers, and internal cross-functional teams
