Position Overview
Reporting to the Senior Manager, People & Culture, the Talent Acquisition Manager will lead the development and execution of recruitment and workforce planning initiatives across operational and corporate teams. This role will focus on building scalable talent strategies that support business growth, workforce stability, and succession planning.
The successful candidate will partner closely with business leaders to strengthen recruitment processes, improve candidate experience, and develop proactive talent pipelines in a fast-paced operational environment. This position will also oversee and mentor a Talent Acquisition team while driving continuous improvement through data, market insights, and strategic workforce planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of Talent Acquisition professionals responsible for operational and corporate hiring initiatives.
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies that align with business objectives and workforce demands.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to understand staffing requirements, labour challenges, and future hiring needs.
- Build and maintain strong talent pipelines for high-volume and business-critical positions.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to improve recruitment processes, onboarding experience, and overall employer branding efforts.
- Work alongside Marketing and Communications teams to enhance external recruitment campaigns and employer brand visibility.
- Support workforce forecasting and succession planning initiatives across multiple departments.
- Analyze recruitment metrics including time-to-fill, turnover trends, sourcing effectiveness, and hiring costs to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor labour market trends and recommend innovative recruitment and retention strategies.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of talent acquisition policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Utilize HR systems and recruitment technology to improve efficiency and reporting capabilities.
- Lead or participate in special HR and talent-related projects as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, or a related discipline.
CHRP or CHRL designation considered an asset.
- 5-7+ years of progressive experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, or human resources leadership/management roles within a similar environment/ industry.
- Previous experience leading or mentoring recruitment teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of workforce planning, recruitment strategy, and talent management principles.
- Experience working within operational, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, environmental services, or similar industries is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Ceridian Dayforce is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Valid driver’s license with flexibility to travel occasionally to various company locations.
