Position: Mobile Developer - Android
Location: Remote (Toronto)
Salary: $80–$95 per hour
Duration: 6-month contract to start with a strong possibility of extension

About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join their growing mobile development team and help deliver high-quality Android applications used by a large and expanding customer base. This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced mobile developer who enjoys owning projects end-to-end, influencing technical decisions, and building scalable mobile solutions in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Architect, develop, and maintain high-performance Android applications using clean, scalable code.
- Build pixel-perfect user interfaces that align with product and design specifications.
- Integrate mobile applications with backend services to deliver seamless user experiences.
- Take ownership of key product features and contribute to technical direction and innovation.
- Lead projects through the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to deployment and support.
- Troubleshoot production issues, implement bug fixes, and support ongoing application enhancements.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Ensure applications meet high standards for performance, reliability, maintainability, and usability.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
- Strong expertise with Kotlin and Java.
- Proven experience optimizing Android application performance.
- Hands-on experience with Android Jetpack libraries and frameworks, including Jetpack Compose, Room, MVVM Architecture.
- Strong understanding of RxJava and Kotlin Coroutines.
- Experience writing unit tests and solving complex technical challenges.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
