Position: Senior Analyst – Regulatory Accounting
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Salary: $50–$60/hour

Our client, a leading organization in the energy sector, is seeking a Senior Analyst – Regulatory Accounting to join their team on a 1-year contract basis. Reporting to the Finance team, this role will support financial reporting, regulatory accounting, IFRS compliance, financial statement disclosures, and internal reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review inputs for consolidated financial statement note disclosures on a quarterly basis
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Support regulatory filings, internal management reporting, and financial reporting activities
- Monitor and implement IFRS accounting requirements, including IFRS 18 Presentation and Disclosure in Financial Statements
- Support accounting standard changes, disclosure updates, and regulatory accounting requirements, including MIFRS
- Assist with external audit requirements and internal control activities
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiencies, and automation
- Support financial projects, initiatives, and ad hoc analysis as required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
- CPA designation in Canada is required
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and financial analysis experience
- Experience with financial reporting, consolidated financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and disclosures
- Strong knowledge of IFRS standards, including IFRS 18 implementation/adoption experience
- Regulatory accounting and MIFRS experience is highly preferred
- Experience supporting external audits and internal controls
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting systems
