Position: Enterprise Data Architect
Location: Remote (Canada) | Occasional travel as required
Salary: Up to $120 per hour CAD
Job Type: 6-month contract + extension/potential conversion

Our client is looking for an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to lead the development of an enterprise-wide data classification and governance strategy. This is a strategic role focused on defining governance frameworks, aligning stakeholders, and establishing best practices for handling sensitive data across the organization.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of an enterprise-wide data classification and governance strategy.
- Gather business requirements and translate them into governance and compliance policies.
- Define data classification standards, handling policies, and roadmaps.
- Evaluate existing security platforms while maintaining a vendor-agnostic, strategyfirst approach.
- Communicate recommendations and governance frameworks to both technical and business stakeholders.
Must-Have:
- Active Canadian Secret Security Clearance (mandatory)
- Senior Enterprise Architect or Data Architect experience
- Broad security architecture knowledge, including Microsoft Purview, Microsoft 365, Zscaler, CrowdStrike, DLP, Zero Trust, and Information Governance
- Experience working in regulated or classified environments
Nice to Have:
- TOGAF, CISSP, CDMP, or similar certifications
- Experience building a data governance program from the ground up
