Position Overview
We are seeking a results-driven Diabetes Retail Sales Specialist to manage and grow sales within an assigned geographic territory. In this role, you will develop strong relationships with pharmacy teams, healthcare professionals, diabetes specialists, and general practitioners while delivering high-quality education and support across the diabetes category.
The successful candidate will bring strong disease-state and competitive knowledge, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to translate market insights into actionable territory strategies. This role is ideal for a self-motivated sales professional who thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment and is committed to achieving both short- and long-term business objectives.
Reports to: District Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the assigned territory as a business by analyzing market dynamics, identifying opportunities, and developing, implementing, tracking, and adjusting territory plans to achieve sales objectives.
- Drive sales and market share growth by effectively educating and engaging healthcare professionals on diabetes products and continuous glucose monitoring solutions.
- Support patient-start initiatives by executing targeted programs, clinic days, and educational events designed to increase appropriate patient adoption and accelerate therapy starts.
- Develop and execute a strategic retail and pharmacy territory plan using a structured selling approach, including pre-call planning, needs assessment, positioning, objection handling, closing, and post-call analysis.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with pharmacy teams, healthcare professionals, diabetes specialists, and general practitioners across the territory.
- Identify new business opportunities within the retail and pharmacy channels and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with diabetes sales representatives, marketing partners, and other stakeholders to maximize market share and customer impact.
- Maintain current knowledge of diabetes disease states, products, competitors, industry trends, selling tools, and evolving business conditions through continuous professional development.
- Communicate sales activity and territory insights clearly and consistently, including follow-up activities, progress against objectives, and required reporting.
- Meet administrative and project deadlines while maintaining accurate records and effective territory management practices.
- Safeguard and maintain company-provided equipment, materials, records, and resources in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Conduct all activities with professionalism, integrity, and ethical business practices while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
What Youll Bring:
- Proven experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, diabetes, pharmacy, or related sales.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze market information and turn insights into sales strategies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities within a defined territory.
- A commitment to continuous learning and staying current on disease states, products, competition, and industry trends.
