Position: Controller
Location: Calgary, AB
Salary: $110,000 - $140,000
About the Role
On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the organization's accounting and financial operations. The Controller will be responsible for financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting support, cash flow management, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and the finance team
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes
- Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies
- Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and financial performance
- Coordinate external audits and regulatory reporting requirements
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and applicable regulations
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation required or strongly preferred
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Previous leadership or people management experience
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, and budgeting
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
