Financial Controller
Pointe-Claire, Montreal (West Island) - Hybrid
Salary: $120,000–$150,000 + Bonus
Our client, a well-established distribution company, is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to lead its accounting and finance function. This is a key leadership role offering direct exposure to ownership and the opportunity to help drive the financial performance of a growing business.
What you'll be doing
As the Financial Controller, you will oversee the full accounting cycle while managing and mentoring the finance team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing monthly and annual financial statements
- Leading the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis process
- Managing cash flow, treasury, and financial planning
- Overseeing inventory accounting and inventory controls
- Supervising month-end and year-end close activities
- Ensuring accurate multi-entity financial reporting
- Managing the annual audit and compliance requirements
- Strengthening internal controls and improving accounting processes
- Coaching and developing a team of accounting professionals
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Accounting certificate
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience as a Controller
- Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
- A proactive, hands-on leader
