Position: Clinical Exercise Physiologist/ Kinesiologist
Location: Toronto
Posting Type: Open vacancy
Quantum is supporting a client in downtown Toronto that is seeking an experienced Kinesiologist or Exercise Physiologist to join its in-clinic care team on a part-time basis 2 days/week to start and ramping up as the clinic grows.
The Opportunity
This is a physician-led private clinic that puts longer appointments, continuity, and data-informed care first. You'll assess how each patient moves, performs, and adapts, then turn objective movement and fitness data into clear, practical health insights and individualized exercise programs. You'll work alongside physicians, physiotherapists, chiropractors, and other allied health professionals, so your findings become part of each patient's broader care plan.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct biomechanical and functional movement assessments to identify movement patterns, compensations, and injury risk.
- Use validated movement screening tools (including FMS and similar protocols) to establish baseline function and guide programming.
- Analyze gait, posture, joint mechanics, and movement efficiency in activities relevant to each patient's lifestyle and goals.
- Administer maximal and submaximal aerobic capacity tests, including VO2 max testing.
- Provide ECG monitoring during exercise testing as required, in coordination with the clinical team.
- Design evidence-based, individualized exercise programs for goals such as injury prevention, longevity, athletic performance, chronic disease management, and general wellbeing.
- Build progressive training plans that account for medical history, fitness baseline, functional limitations, and lifestyle.
- Deliver one-on-one exercise sessions, coaching proper technique with precision and care.
- Reassess and adjust programs over time based on objective progress data.
- Explain findings in clear, motivating language that patients can act on.
- Take part in case reviews and offer a movement science perspective on musculoskeletal, metabolic, and cardiovascular presentations.
- Document assessments, programs, and session notes accurately and promptly in the clinic's EHR.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field
- Registered Kinesiologist (R.Kin.) in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (CKO)
- Minimum 23 years of clinical or applied kinesiology experience
- Demonstrated experience with VO2 max and cardiorespiratory fitness testing using ACSM protocols, plus a strong grasp of clinical interpretation
- Proficiency in biomechanical analysis, functional movement screening, and evidence-based exercise prescription
- Experience working in an EHR system and within an interdisciplinary clinical team
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to turn data into meaningful health narratives for patients and colleagues
- Genuine interest in proactive, relationship-based, patient-centered care
