Our government-based client is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and controllership activities. The role provides financial advice to leadership while supporting compliance, process improvements, and ERP implementation initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end, year-end, general ledger, reconciliations, treasury, and financial reporting activities.
- Prepare financial statements, forecasts, budgets, financial models, and management reports.
- Support multi-year financial planning, Ministry reporting, cash management, and annual business planning.
- Develop and maintain financial policies, internal controls, and processes in accordance with PSAS, GAAP, and legislation.
- Provide financial analysis, risk assessment, and strategic advice to leadership and internal stakeholders.
- Support ERP implementation, UAT, data migration, process improvements, SOPs, and end-user training.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- CPA designation with 5+ years of progressive financial accounting experience
- Government or broader public-sector experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of PSAS, GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and internal controls
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365, SAP, QuickBooks, and financial systems
- Strong analytical, communication, presentation, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
