Position: Bilingual Credit Analyst

Our client, a leading Canadian financial services organization, is currently seeking a Bilingual Credit Analyst to join their team in Etobicoke. In this role, you will conduct credit-based assessments for prospective and existing merchants while providing support on credit-related inquiries. You’ll help ensure financial risk is minimized by applying established underwriting criteria and completing thorough reviews of merchant applications and flagged accounts.
What You’ll Do
- Review and adjudicate merchant applications using established credit policies.
- Conduct re-assessments for merchants needing line increases or flagged for fraud-related concerns.
- Perform credit risk evaluations on high-risk merchants to ensure compliance with credit, fraud, regulatory, and legal requirements.
- Analyze personal, business, and financial information to support credit decisions.
- Collaborate with internal teams on credit training, fraud detection, and monitoring activities.
- Support complex merchant setups by explaining credit policies and decisions.
- Partner with the Fraud team to monitor high-risk merchant activity.
- Provide backup support to Credit Analysts during peak periods or special projects.
- Complete additional tasks as needed while adhering to corporate policies.
What You Bring
- 1–3 years of related experience.
- Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience.
- Fluency in both French and English.
- Experience with personal or commercial credit bureaus and/or financial statement analysis.
- Payment industry experience is an asset.
- Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to think critically and creatively.
