Position: Collections Specialist
Location: Vaughan (On-site)
Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 + 5% bonus

About the Opportunity:
Our client, a well-established within the commercial building solutions industry, is seeking a Collections Specialist to join their team in Vaughan, Ontario. This role will focus on managing outstanding receivables, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring timely payment of invoices.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating with customers to resolve payment issues and disputes while supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively contact customers regarding past-due invoices via phone and email to secure payment commitments.
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable aging reports to identify overdue balances.
- Maintain a structured and consistent collections follow-up process.
- Work with customers to resolve payment issues, disputes, deductions, and chargebacks.
- Investigate and reconcile customer accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales and customer service, to resolve billing discrepancies and customer concerns.
- Maintain detailed records of collection activities and payment arrangements.
- Escalate high-risk or significantly overdue accounts when necessary.
- Assist with account reconciliations and cash application support when required.
- Support additional accounts receivable and collections-related activities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in business, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- CCP designation OR enrollment in the CCP program is required.
- 2-4 years of B2B collections experience.
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable and collections processes.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards or similar) is considered an asset.
- Bilingual French/English is considered an asset.
