Position: Corporate Accountant (Contract)
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 3 days on site)
Salary: $50–$55 per hour

About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established financial services/regulatory organization, is seeking a Corporate Accountant to support their Finance team on a contract basis. This role will focus on financial reporting, accounting operations, and financial systems improvements, while supporting key finance initiatives and process enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support month-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Perform variance analysis and assist with preparation of financial reports for leadership.
- Review and approve accounts receivable batches and invoices while providing guidance to AP/AR teams.
- Support financial reporting and analysis for internal stakeholders.
- Assist with year-end activities and external audit support.
- Contribute to financial systems improvements and automation initiatives, including enhancements to financial reporting tools.
- Participate in cross-functional finance projects and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- CPA designation required
- 7–8 years of experience in accounting, auditing, or finance roles
- Strong experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end processes
- Experience with financial systems or ERP platforms (Workday experience preferred)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams
