We are seeking a hands-on Field Service Supervisor to lead field operations for a precision-engineered manufacturing organization. This role combines technical expertise, team leadership, and customer-facing responsibilities, with a strong focus on service excellence, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and develop a team of Service Technicians, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management
- Plan and coordinate field service activities (installations, repairs, training) to optimize productivity and customer satisfaction
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer service and technical support issues, ensuring clear and timely communication
- Travel to customer sites to oversee installations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure successful execution
- Review project scope and ensure readiness of tools, documentation, and resources
- Support and enforce high standards for internal teams and external contractors
- Develop and deliver technical training materials (manuals, videos, CAD resources) for both on-site and remote use
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and Customer Service teams
- Conduct root cause analysis and provide technical feedback to support product improvement and standardization
- Manage service documentation, including reports, NCRs, and ISO-related records
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations; conduct risk assessments and investigate incidents
- Monitor service operations, costs, and performance metrics to improve efficiency and profitability
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma in a technical field or equivalent experience; Red Seal certification (Millwright, Machinist, Tool & Die, Electrician)
- 5–10+ years of experience, including 5+ years in a supervisory role within field service or a related environment
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude, including estimating/quoting experience
- Hands-on experience with machining (mills/lathes) and welding (TIG and Arc)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings; experience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, DraftSight)
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments
- Experience developing and delivering technical training (in-person and remote)
- Familiarity with automation, PLCs, and HMIs is an asset
- Strong communication, organizational, and reporting skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to travel up to 50% (domestic and international)
