Role Summary:
Our client, a leading manufacturer, is currently hiring an HR Generalist to join their team and play a key role in delivering day-to-day HR support across corporate functions. Partnering closely with employees and leaders, this position ensures HR practices are consistent, compliant, and people-centric. The role spans the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, employee relations, HR administration, and the delivery of core HR programs and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, programs, and procedures.
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for designated roles, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and offer support.
- Lead onboarding and orientation activities to ensure a seamless and engaging new hire experience.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records within HRIS platforms.
- Provide ongoing guidance to employees and leaders on employee relations, performance management, and workplace issues.
- Support workplace investigations and assist with the implementation of corrective actions as needed.
- Champion a positive, inclusive, and values-driven workplace culture.
- Administer and support HR programs such as performance reviews, merit increases, and employee recognition initiatives.
- Coordinate benefits administration, payroll updates, and leave management in collaboration with internal partners.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian employment legislation, including ESA, OHSA, Human Rights Code, and WSIB requirements.
- Prepare reports and maintain documentation to support audits and regulatory compliance.
- Assist with learning and development initiatives, including individual development plans.
- Support employee engagement surveys, including data analysis and follow-up actions.
- Participate in HR projects such as policy updates, process improvements, and HR system enhancements.
Execute other duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of progressive HR experience, with prior experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Strong working knowledge of Canadian employment legislation, HR best practices, and full-cycle recruitment.
- Experience using HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office; exposure to BambooHR is considered an asset.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with a high degree of professionalism and discretion.
- CHRP designation (or currently working toward) is considered an asset.
