Position: Lead Import Specialist - Retail Consumer Goods

Salary: $85,000 – $110,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Our client, a growing consumer goods company in Ottawa, is seeking a Lead Import Specialist to manage direct sourcing and retail program execution for major North American chains.
This is a hands-on import role focused on consumer retail products manufactured in China/Asia. It is not an inventory planning, warehouse, or logistics-only position.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage full-cycle import process from factory to retail shelf
- Communicate directly with factories in China/Asia
- Oversee 50+ SKUs across development and production
- Collaborate with Sales on pricing, POs, and retail programs
- Review commercial invoices and import documentation
- Coordinate compliance, samples, artwork, and timelines
- Lead 1–2 team members
What You Must Bring:
- 3–5+ years in retail consumer goods importing
- Direct factory experience in China/Asia (required)
- Experience supporting large retail accounts
- Strong import/export documentation knowledge
- Advanced Excel skills
Compensation:
- $85,000 – $110,000 base salary
- Bonus + full benefits
- 3 weeks of vacation + 10 personal days
- Relocation support available
