The Opportunity
We are partnering with a highly regarded law firm to hire a Legal Marketing & Rankings Specialist to join its established Marketing & Business Development team.
This is a key specialist role suited to a candidate currently working within a law firm environment, bringing demonstrable experience across legal directory submissions and digital profile-raising initiatives. The successful candidate will play a central role in enhancing the firm’s market positioning through strategic rankings management and effective social media engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the firm’s submissions to leading legal directories, including Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500
- Draft, refine, and manage high-quality submissions, working closely with partners to showcase key matters and strategic strengths
- Lead the end-to-end rankings process, including referee management, research coordination, and deadline oversight
- Develop and execute targeted social media strategies, with a focus on LinkedIn and lawyer-led thought leadership
- Partner with lawyers and business development colleagues to identify profile-raising opportunities across priority practice areas
- Monitor rankings feedback and results, providing insight and recommendations to enhance future performance
- Contribute to broader marketing and brand initiatives where relevant
Requirements:
- Currently employed within a law firm in a marketing or business development capacity
- Proven, hands-on experience managing submissions to Chambers and Partners and/or The Legal 500
- Strong understanding of legal marketing and the professional services landscape
- Experience managing and executing social media activity, particularly LinkedIn
- Exceptional written and editorial skills, with the ability to produce compelling, high-quality content
- Confident stakeholder management skills, with experience working directly with partners and senior lawyers
- Exposure to multiple practice areas within a law firm
- Experience analyzing rankings outcomes and refining submission strategy
- Law Firm Experience and direct involvement in legal directory submissions are mandatory
- Must have Social Media experience within a law firm
- Familiarity with broader profile-raising initiatives, including awards and directories
- Detail-oriented with a high standard of written work
- Commercially aware, with an understanding of how rankings and visibility drive client development
- Proactive and confident in engaging senior stakeholders
- Able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
