Position: Merchandising Operations Specialist – Store Planning Support Contract
Location: Hybrid, GTA (Office + Store Travel Required)
Posting Type: Open vacancy
Our client is looking for a Merchandising Operations Specialist to support the development, testing, and execution of store bay concepts and merchandising standards that feed directly into Space Planning.
This is an analytical, execution-focused role. This is not a Visual Merchandiser position and does not focus on seasonal styling, creative storytelling, or customer-facing visual presentation. Instead, this role ensures merchandising concepts are accurate, scalable, and execution-ready for store rollout.
You’ll work closely with Space Planning, Merchandising, and cross-functional partners to build proof-of-concept bays, validate standards, and manage multiple projects at once.
What You’ll Do:
Proof of Concept & Bay Development
- Build and validate proof-of-concept bay sets at the Innovation Centre
- Ensure bays meet space, operational, and execution standards
- Capture measurements, constraints, and execution learnings for Space Planning
Merchandising Execution Support
- Translate merchandising direction into clear, repeatable standards
- Partner with Space Planning to support accurate bay planning
- Support pilots and provide structured feedback for refinement
Project Management & Coordination
- Manage multiple projects and workback timelines simultaneously
- Coordinate with vendors and internal partners on inputs and deliverables
- Identify risks, gaps, and execution challenges early
Documentation & Analysis
- Use Excel to analyze data and support decision-making
(Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP required — testing will be conducted)
- Prepare decks, execution guides, and leadership recaps
- Maintain organized records of standards and project files
Must-Haves:
- Valid driver’s license and access to vehicle (travel required from Barrie to Oshawa)
- Strong Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
- Experience supporting merchandising standards, bay sets, or store planning
- Comfortable with hands-on builds and physical setup
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
If your background is primarily creative visual merchandising or styling, this role may not be the right fit.
