Position: Test Automation Specialist
Location: 4 days onsite, Downtown Toronto
Salary: $110K-$145K per year

We are seeking an experienced Testing Automation Specialist to lead the planning, design, execution, and reporting of enterprise automation testing initiatives. Reporting to testing leadership, this role is responsible for establishing and driving the automation roadmap, implementing scalable test frameworks, and ensuring consistent testing standards across projects.
This onsite position is ideal for someone passionate about advancing automation practices, improving quality governance, and leading high-performing testing teams within a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the automation testing strategy, roadmap, and framework across projects.
- Lead automation test planning, estimation, execution, reporting, and defect management throughout the SDLC.
- Establish and enforce automation standards, methodologies, templates, and governance processes.
- Provide oversight of automation resources, including mentoring team members and managing third-party vendors.
- Ensure effective use of test management, defect tracking, and automation tools.
- Identify risks, manage testing timelines, and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement of automation practices, tools, and processes to increase efficiency and reduce testing cycle times.
- Support CI/CD integration and ensure testing aligns with production stability and compliance requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience leading automation testing teams on large-scale projects in Agile and/or Waterfall environments.
- Proven experience developing automation frameworks and defining enterprise testing standards.
- Experience with Tosca.
- Strong scripting and programming experience (e.g., Java or similar languages).
- Hands-on experience with UI, mobile, API, and web service automation tools.
- Experience integrating automation within CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, test design methodologies (e.g., Test-Driven Development), and quality assurance best practices.
- Experience with defect tracking tools and test management platforms.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and distributed application architectures preferred.
